the leadership of two kings

THE LEADERSHIP OF TWO KINGS
A leader is someone with a vision and is committed to completing that vision and in that process has the skills to cultivate. Being a leader means others look up to you and how you portray yourself. The respect you earn is the same respect a leader should be given. Each leader should be able to lead others into the right direction. Although Beowulf and Macbeth were two different types of kings they both fought for the same future of Becoming a leader; a king.
Although Macbeth and Beowulf eventually ruled king, to get there they both had obstacles that they had to overcome in order to continue on with their vision. Macbeth sought the prophecies that held his crown; and in order for him to grasp that title he had to become inferior and cold hearted, murdering anyone who came between him and his crown. On the other hand Beowulf didn’t strive to be king but to live on in the minds of others after he had died .But he didn’t hesitate to take upon the job when it was mentioned. Both leaders became deceitful as they gained more and more power.
Becoming a leader means you have peers, an audience looking up to you and giving you your title. Macbeth’s people didn’t look at Macbeth as a leader but more of an arrogant man trying to take over. Instead of feeling safe they feared him.  They began to catch on to his mass murders and killings. They felt as if he didn’t earn the right to have the authority because after the killing of King Duncan and Banquo, he came more and more corrupted the more he saw himself looking down on others. They viewed him as a weak man committing sins; he showed no characteristics of a king but more of a dictator.
Beowulf’s people viewed him as a savior, he came into demark being fearless and the geats saw how he carried himself. He had all the characteristics of a good leader and king. He respected his people and they respected him because he would risk his life to save theirs. When he sought out something he didn’t give up he went through with his plans, not giving up.  They felt safe in his presence as he protected his people from any danger. He was the perfect example of a heroic king; he was a strong, intelligent man who had perseverance even towards the end of his life he didn’t let age stop him from defeating the dragon. Even after his death his people never turned their backs on him; he lived on in many lives’s as a great leader, hero, and king.

Even though Macbeth and Beowulf were leaders in their time and ruled differently, the both of them had flaws to their crown.  They manipulated there kingdoms with lies, becoming more and more dishonest. Every leader isn’t perfect but to be honest is the most honorable quality that people look at because if they can’t believe in you and in your words, they won’t believe in your vision.
